10月1日，受中國政府邀請，葛興福博士到北京參加70周年國慶慶典觀禮， 百感交集、心緒難平。他提筆寫下本文，對中國人民在短時間內取得的巨大成就表示由衷欽佩，并表達對中國美好的祝愿。
 

 

　　On October 1st I had the great honor to join the 70 Years‘ Celebrations of People’s Republic of China. After having received the Chinese Friendship Award last year this invitation of the Chinese Government was a further highlight in my life. It was an exceptional event prepared and presented by our chinese friends with devotion, creativity, perfection and love to their country. I was the only mail invited person from Shenyang. Other two persons were ladies from USA and South Korea working for social charity in Shenyang.
 

　　10月1日，我非常榮幸地參加了中華人民共和國70成立典。在去年獲得中國友誼獎之后，此次中國政府的邀請是我生命中的又重要時刻。這是我們的中國朋友以對國家的奉獻、創新、和熱愛，精心準備和舉辦的一次盛會。
 

 

　　With this unforgettable celebration and the messages inside China finally conveyed the ambition to the whole world that it will play an essential global role in future.
 

　　伴隨著這一不可忘懷的慶典和和其中所傳遞的信息，中國終于向全世界傳達了雄心壯志：中國將在未來發揮重要的作用。
 

 

　　For the western world there is no other way than understanding, respecting and communicating with China. With its big developing population, increasing academic potential, opening up,  financial power, big market, self consciousness and devotion for improvements China will become the leading power in the world soon. Therefore, instead of searching for what to criticize the western world should identify areas where they could learn from China and cooperate.
 

　　而西方世界必須要理解、尊重中國并且積極與其溝通。中國人口眾多，學術潛力不斷增強，對外開放程度不斷提高，金融實力不斷增強，市場規模不斷擴大，自我意識不斷增強，致力于持續發展，不久將成為世界的領導力量。因此，西方世界與其費力批評，不如找出可以向中國學習和合作的領域。
 

 

　　I warmly congratulate China to 70th Anniversary, express may admiration to all what they achieved in short time and wish a great future for all Chinese with remarkable contributions to mankind. I am convinced that Chinese will play an important role for establishing peace in the world.
 

　　我衷心祝賀新中國成立70周年，對他們在短時間內取得的一切成就表示欽佩，祝愿所有為人類作出貢獻的中國人有一個偉大的未來。我相信，中國將為世界的和平發揮重要作用。
 

　　Finally, I say thank you to all my/our chinese friends for beautiful 14 years we have been spending in China. You all are true, honest friends for life.
 

　　后，我要感謝所有我在中國度過14年所結識的中國朋友。你們都是我終生真誠的朋友。
